According to Agence Nationale Des Fréquence (ANFR), the iOS 17.1 update will arrive on October 24 for the iPhone 12. It will likely come on other iPhones on the same day globally, as most iOS updates usually do. The French government had raised concerns regarding the phone’s emission levels and even banned the device’s sales in the country.
According to Apple, all iPhones have an off-body detection mechanism to detect when the phone is on a static surface. This is used to optimize performance in off-body scenarios. Furthermore, it says the French regulators did not account for this protocol, which led to the high SAR values.
The new iOS 17.1 update will reduce the radiation level when the phone is on a static surface. The latest update reduces the phone’s power when kept on a table. Apple says this could result in slightly lower cellular performance in low-signal areas. However, the company claims that most consumers will unlikely notice the change.
The new update will also have several improvements like a new favourite feature in Apple Music, support for AirDrop via the internet, and the option to check bank and card balances in the Wallet app.
Furthermore, the update will add a flashlight indicator to Dynamic Island, better photo shuffle on the lock screen, and support for the Nintendo N6 controller. HyperOS Marks The End of MIUI It will also end the 13-year-old reign of MIUI, the company’s legacy software skin, which lost its appeal over the years. Many complained the user interface was riddled with bugs and bloatware, which hampered the experience. The company has been developing HyperOS since 2017 to create its own ecosystem. This will allow users to control and manage devices from one place.
According To Lei Jun, HyperOS is “based on the integration of the deeply evolved Android and the self-developed Vela system, completely rewriting the underlying architecture, and preparing a public base for the Internet of Everything for tens of billions of devices and tens of billions of connections in the future”.
There is no clarity on whether this new OS is based on AOSP (Android Open Source Project) or if it will adopt a similar approach to Huawei’s Harmony OS. Xiaomi has not mentioned any details or images about the user interface of HyperOS. However, it will soon arrive in the upcoming Xiaomi 14 series later this month.

It’s normal to freak out for a bit, but don’t lose hope just yet. Here are some quick solutions you can try when you’re having issues with your phone not charging.
Check out the Ampere app Ampere is an excellent app for checking if your phone is charging and how much it’s charging. It essentially identifies how much current is being drawn in from your device when it charges. Because of this, the app is great for seeing if your phone is charging at all and for seeing which charging method is the best.
Give it a go and see the status of your phone battery while plugged in. If the number in the app shows up green, the device is charging, but if it’s a negative orange number, your device is using power.
Is your cable in good condition? A phone not charging could be due to many reasons, but the cable is one of the first things to check. Especially if it’s an accessory you’ve had for a long time, possibly since the phone was purchased. Our cables go through plenty of torture. They go with you to many places, not to mention we can often step or trip on them, they often get tangled up, we throw them in bags carelessly, and so on.
Inspect your charging cable thoroughly and see if there are any evident signs of damage. Any rips, bends, cuts, or general damage will be a good reason cables malfunction. Also, try to charge another device with it and see if it works. If it does, the issue might be the device. You can also try using another cable to see if it will charge your smartphone battery.
