G22, Nokia’s first easily repairable phone

The occasion was also used to present three new smartphones, the resistant C22 with metal body and tempered glass for the 2.5D screen at 129 euros, the C32 with 50 MP main camera at the price of 149 euros, and the G22, the first user-repairable Nokia smartphone thanks to the collaboration with iFixit, which will have a price of 189 euros.

Nokia therefore joins Samsung, Google, Apple and Microsoft, who have embraced policies to improve the repairability of their products by making agreements with iFixit.

The battery in the Nokia G22 can be removed in five minutes, while it took about an hour and a half on the company’s previous models.

In sight there is also a repair kit provided by iFixit, the price of which is still to be defined, but which should be around 5 euros. However, the disassembly guides and also the prices of the spare parts are already available on the iFixit website: The 5,050 mAh battery costs 24.95 euros, the charging port 19.95 euros, the screen 49.95 euros, and the back €24.95.

Also considering the purchase price, the Nokia G22 does not want to be an absolute top of the range. It has a 6.52” 720p screen with a 90Hz refresh rate
