Nokia will make phones in Europe

Yet Nokia does not intend to abandon the smartphone market. HMD Global explained this in a press release in which it announced the start of the process that will make it the first global smartphone supplier to transfer production to Europe.

The first phase will start already in 2023, with the development of processes and production capacity of 5G devices directly in the Old Continent; although no timing has been provided on the actual distribution of the terminals made in Europe. Currently, HMD phones are manufactured by Foxconn, which is based in Taiwan but also has several factories in China.
