Moto E15 and Moto G05: Affordable Smartphones with 90Hz Display, 50MP Camera, and IP54 Rating

Motorola has announced the launch of two new affordable smartphones, the Moto E15 and Moto G05, designed to offer basic functionality without breaking the bank. Both devices prioritise performance, battery life and user-friendly design, catering to price-conscious consumers in emerging markets. The launch coincides with the new Moto G15 and G15 Power smartphones.

Key Differences: Moto E15 vs. Moto G05


The Moto G05, positioned as a slightly more premium option, comes with 4GB RAM and storage options of 64GB or 128GB, expandable up to 1TB. In contrast, the Moto E15 offers a modest 2GB RAM and 64GB storage. The G05 also runs the latest Android 15, while the E15 operates on Android 14 (Go edition), designed for lightweight apps and optimized performance on lower-end hardware.Both devices share a 6.67-inch HD+ LCD screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and up to 1000 nits brightness, ensuring a smooth display experience even under bright conditions. They are powered by the MediaTek Helio G81-Ultra processor, offering capable performance for everyday tasks.

Camera Features and Audio
Camera capabilities set the two devices apart. The Moto G05 features a 50MP rear camera for sharper images, whereas the Moto E15 includes a 32MP rear sensor. Both come with an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls.Motorola has retained stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos support for enhanced audio quality on both phones—an unusual offering in budget smartphones.

Battery and Build
Battery life continues to be a highlight, with both phones packing a 5200mAh battery and supporting 18W fast charging. Both phones are IP54 rated for dust and splash resistance, have almost identical dimensions of 165.67 x 75.98 x 8.17 mm and weigh 188.8 grams. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner adds to the convenience of quick unlocking.

Availability
Motorola plans to launch the Moto G05 and Moto E15 in Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia-Pacific. while pricing has yet to be confirmed, both devices are expected to offer solid performance and modern features at competitive prices.
