Problems with notifications on your smartphone? Here is the very simple solution

Posted on October 11, 2022 by bella

Receiving notifications continuously on your mobile phone, whether it is ringing of phone calls or notifications of messages or various applications, may not be entirely pleasant. Even if the phone is silenced, and put in “vibrate” mode, it happens that this small movement of the smartphone can be annoying in the long run.

Notifications can also be silenced from a computer

Putting the “silencer” on WhatsApp notifications is one of the simplest procedures and can be done directly from the app settings. You can silence all the notifications of the messaging system owned by Meta or you can decide to silence the notifications of some selected chats or groups.

On a device that has an Android operating system, just start WhatsApp, go to Settings and then to Notifications. From there you can remove the notifications by ticking the Conversation tones option from ON to OFF.

You can also do this in the Messages and Groups sections, by operating on the following options: Pop-up notifications and Use high-priority notifications. In these sections, you can mute notifications for both individual chats and WhatsApp groups.

As for Facebook, you need to access your account by selecting Settings and privacy, then Settings and finally the Notifications section. Once here, click on Notification Settings and move the Disable Push Notifications toggle from OFF to ON to completely silence all notifications.

It is also possible to disable only specific groups of notifications by accessing the section of interest, including Comments, Tags, Reminders etc., and choose the notifications that you want to silence. Even the Facebook groups to which you have subscribed can be selected individually to be silenced, without the need to silence all application notifications.

And then there is Telegram: to silence notifications on an Android device, you need to access the application and enter the Settings item. At that point you go to Notifications and sounds, moving the lever next to the notifications that you want to silence indefinitely to OFF.

Also on Telegram it is possible to silence the notifications of a single contact or a channel, or a group, by pressing on the name and moving the notification lever from ON to OFF.
