Google is planning to launch the most affordable phone in the Google Pixel 8 series, the Google Pixel 8A, soon. Google Pixel 8a Price Leaked Ahead Of Launch
According to a report by the Passionate Geeks, the Google Pixel 8A will have a price tag of $705 (around Rs.42,830) in Canada for the base variant with 128GB storage. Furthermore, the 256GB model will retail for $790 (around Rs.47,900) for the 256GB variant.
In addition, the phone will retail for Rs.40,000 to Rs.45,000 in India for the base variant. According to the report, this will make it at least Rs.1,000 to Rs.2,000 more expensive than the Google Pixel 7A.
For those unaware, the Google Pixel 7A arrived in India for Rs.43,999 for the single variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. This means the base variant of the Pixel 8A will have a Rs.2,000 price increase over its predecessor.
Furthermore, the report claims the phone will launch on May 14 at the Google I/O. However, the India launch date is likely to be announced later, and it could go on sale via Flipkart.
Expected Specifications
The Google Pixel 8A will boast a 6.1-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, which is excellent for the price. Furthermore, the phone will have a peak brightness of 1,400 nits and offer AI features.
The phone will use the Tensor G3 chipset with 8GB of RAM. It will likely ship with Android 15 and will be available in 128GB and 256 GB. However, whether the Pixel 8A will receive seven years of OS updates remains to be seen, which could make it a fantastic mid-range smartphone for its price.
The phone will feature a 64-megapixel primary camera and a 13-megapixel ultrawide angle lens for optics. On the front, there will be a 13-megapixel selfie shooter.
