OnePlus 12R Buyers Eligible For Full Refund Until This Date

Posted on February 19, 2024 by bella

OnePlus launched its flagship OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R smartphones last month in India. However, the OnePlus 12R soon found itself in the middle of a controversy, with the company initially advertising it to have UFS 4.0 on the 256GB variant but later stating it has UFS 3.1

This led to widespread outrage by users on X (Formerly Twitter) and led OnePlus to apologise for the error. The company is now issuing refunds to buyers for the OnePlus 12R for a limited time.

OnePlus 12R 256GB Buyers Can Claim Refund Until March 16
In a statement on the OnePlus Community Forum, the President and COO of OnePlus, Kinder Liu, has announced buyers who have purchased the 256GB variant of the OnePlus 12R are eligible for a refund until March 16. Furthermore, he stated the customer’s service teams had received a briefing regarding the issue and are now addressing the user’s concerns.

To receive a refund for the OnePlus 12R, users will need to contact customer care service to receive a refund until March 16, 2024. This means if you wish to get a refund, you have one month to get your money back.

What Is The 12R Storage Controversy?
The company advertised the OnePlus 12R to have UFS 4.0 storage on the 256GB variant, but users later discovered the storage is actually UFS 3.1. The main difference between the two is that UFS 4.0 offers twice the storage speed and is more power efficient than UFS 3.1

The company apologised for the error and stated the UFS 3.1 storage is the same as the OnePlus 11 series, offering great speeds and keeping applications in memory for 72 hours. He also claimed the phone is certified by TUV SUD to remain fluent for 48 months, but it is now offering a refund to OnePlus 12R 256GB buyers.
