Google Pixel 8A Leak Showcases Retail Box And Design

Google launched its Pixel 8 series last year, which included the Google Pixel 8 and Google Pixel 8 Pro. The company also brings an affordable version of its flagship phone each year with the Pixel A series.

A new leak has revealed the design and specifications of the upcoming Google Pixel 8A, the successor to the Google Pixel 7A. Here is everything you need to know about the Pixel 8A.

Google Pixel 8A Leak Reveals It Will Support 27W Fast Charging
A post by Vietnamese user Hung Nv on Facebook has leaked the retail box for the Google Pixel 8A. The box has a model number G6GPR and also reveals the phone’s design.

The Pixel 8A will have rounded corners with a dual camera setup on the back. Moreover, the phone showcased in black will have a camera visor similar to the Pixel 8 with an LED flash.

The camera visor of the Pixel 8A will be smaller and slimmer than the Pixel 7A. Furthermore, it will have the codename Akita and be available in a blue variant.

The power button and volume rockers will be on the right of the phone. In addition, the retail box of the Pixel 8A also corresponds to the previous leak showcasing the phone’s design.

The box also mentions the device will support 27W USB PD charging, although the charger is unlikely to arrive in the box. It will have a 2.5D curved glass with a USB-C port and stereo speakers at the bottom of the phone.

You will find the earpiece at the phone’s top edge, while the left side has the SIM tray. In addition, ultra-wide antenna lines surround the phone’s top, left and right sides.

Pixel 8A Expected Specifications
The Google Pixel 8A will feature a 6.1-inch Full-HD+ OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate. Moreover, it will use an underclocked version of the Tensor G3 chipset paired with up to 8GB of RAM.

It will run on Android 14 out of the box, and whether Google will offer the same seven years of OS updates on the Pixel 8A remains to be seen. Moreover, the Geekbench listing of the phone reveals it will have a single-core score of 1218 and a multi-core score of 3175.

The Pixel 8A will likely launch in May this year and could pack similar AI features to its older siblings. It will have a significantly cheaper price tag than the Pixel 8 while offering most of the features on a budget.
